Late fall,
Words out of my bedtime story,
First appearance of cozy coat.
Tunnels still cooling
From bare-limbed summer swelter.
Rush hour bumper car of wool
Goose down armor
Against leaf changing chill.
Wrestle a way through shoulders
Soft soft
Like laying in a bed
Upright against pillows.
And I
A drowsy child
Amoungst so many stuffed animals
Too toasty
Safe.
Wearing our security blankets.
I cuddle into a
Stranger.
