Oxbone Tail Night
by Sally Robinson

Tongue sweeps lips, liquor pours in,
I put my hips on and shave my teeth.
I don't know me after work
when my chopsticks come undone.
Little woman with wet black hair,
I stand to do and to keep on doing.
I look deep into my purse
and decide I am my own hero.
I hold my drink to my chest like a doll.

Polygram man steps out and says,
what are you up to by the bar.
To hell! I'm here to buy gumballs.
I'm up to the one and only: Stoli
and cranberry, spill me over the line.

Oh oxbone-tail night, serve me
a plate full of bones and fat,
choke on me, mesquite sauce.
